DEAR ME🎁 THE PENULTIMATE 3

Mara rolled her eyes and made the sign of the cross. Worst exam yet, she fumed as she stood up and delivered her paper to the tall robust and unsmiling Mr Robert. Then she scanned the tense hall before walking down the aisle and out the door. She smiled when she saw Theodora looking out for her. She joined her and both of them embraced and whimpered. Leo soon joined them. A look in one another's eyes was enough to pass the message; the exam had been tough. "Does anyone care for ice cream?" Leo asked suddenly. Then their faces lit up and they strolled to the back of FASA hall where an icecream bicycle was standing near the popcorn box. "You're the best, Leo! Icecream is perfect for the celebration," said Theodora with a noisy sip. "It doesn't feel much like a celebration. Those questions were a perfect example of what I ordered versus what I got," Mara sighed. "Look on the bright side. We're done for the year and in a few days, we'l...

Coco; A Review

"Say that I'm crazy or call me a fool..."🎷🎷

Miguel was a young boy with a dream; a dream to sing!

"But last night, it seemed I dreamed of you."πŸͺ—πŸŽΊ

Like all dreamers, he must overcome difficulties and dangers. How does his story, Coco turn out?

Set in the beautiful city of Mexico, Coco brings to life the value of family and music in the character of a young, black haired, one-dimpled Mexican boy, Miguel. πŸ™‚

Miguel Rivera lives under the cohesive and protective shadow of his family, the Riveras. This shadow is dark in some places, like the unchanged, unquestioned and unbroken loyalty of the Riveras to the shoe making trade which was introduced to them by their first matron, Mama Imelda. (Her photo on the ofrenda is really stern πŸ™)Added to that, the Riveras, under Abuela, are strong opponents of music! 😦

These are not exactly favourable for a young boy dreaming of being a musician.😩

Miguel keeps his dream a secret and any move he makes to get even near an instrument or the mariachi plaza is instantly checked by Abuela and her shoe. How then will Miguel become like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz? πŸ˜”

Miguel must seize his moments, but his duties to his family pose the question, "How?"

The answer lies hidden in the family ofrenda. Thanks to Dante, Miguel's street dog, Miguel discovers a startling secret; his cherished idol is his great great grandfather!

This encourages Miguel to openly defy his familia and live in the footsteps of his only musical family.

A step in this direction takes him to the world of the dead where he discovers another startling secret! Finally, with his family, he must work to put right the injustice that has been covered for generations.

Pixar Animation Studio printed its brand on the papers with this 2017 sensation.

Special credit goes to the crew who brought this beautiful project to the screens. The director, Lee Unkrich, is also the director of the renowned Toy Story 3. He found his inspiration in a boat ⛵ at Epcot's Mexico Pavilion.

"We passed a mariachi skeleton band, and that was my trigger moment. I started to think about the potential of telling a story set against the culture of Mexico." Unkrich.

The culture in view is the Dia de Los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.

Mama Coco isn't an actress with a lot of roles. Her singular importance is that she was the only one who remembered Hector, her father. Hector's song paid off 😌

Hector: Remember me 🎼

Let's not also forget; it was at the first mention of the name, Coco, by Hector, that Miguel realized his family had been with him the whole time!

Coco saved Hector from the Final Death, by remembering. Could that be the reason for naming it Coco? πŸ€”

"We didn't know what we were going to call the film for a very long time. We made lists of hundreds of different titles to try... Coco was always just kind of a code name." Unkrich.

The story Coco took a long time before the plot was decided to be what we witnessed in the cinemas. It makes us wonder, was this always what the director had in mind?

"It was ultimately a story about a kid dealing with his grief and learning to say goodbye to the memory of his mother, and I realized we were telling a story that was thematically completely antithetical to what _Dia de Los Muertos_ is about. Dia de Los Muertos is about never letting go." Unkrich.

To conclude, I'd like to borrow Miguel's words in his final song, Proud Corazon ❤️

Say that I'm crazy or call me a fool

But last night it seemed that I dreamed about you

When I opened my mouth what came out was a song

And you knew every word and we all sang along

To a melody played on the strings of our souls

And a rhythm that rattled us down to the bone

Our love for eachother will live on forever

In every beat of my proud corazΓ³n

Our love for each other will live on forever

In every beat of my proud corazΓ³n

Ay mi familia, oiga mi gente

Canten al coro, let it be known

Our love for each other will live on forever

In every beat of my proud corazΓ³n

Ay mi familia, oiga mi gente

Canten al coro, let it be known

Our love for each other will live on forever

In every beat of my proud corazΓ³n.
